For two years now, I have lived with a Dangerous Things implant in each of my hands. Dangerous Things implants are NFC chips that can be safely subdermally implanted in human beings. These implants are generally passive NFC chips that are similar to what is implanted in pets, but are larger and have a greater capacity. This increased capacity allows for increased functionality. My right hand has a 13.56MHz ISO14443A & NFC Type 4 chip that utilizes the DESFire protocol. My left hand has a more widely useful chip, the xSIID NFC + LED Implant, which allows me to utilize it for access control applications, smartphone interactivity, as well as 2FA verification. It is also one heck of a party trick to show someone that your hand lights up and directs their phone to a website of my choosing.
Though the injection process is painful, it is brief. And it’s a small price to pay to be part android.
